WHAT KIND OF SERVICE EXPERIENCE HAVE YOU HAD IN THE PAST?

In high school I went on several service mission trips. Then, in college, I participated in 2 Guatemala mission trips to build churches in rural communities. After college, I was a youth director and did a local service project each month with the youth. With 2 out of state service mission trips in the summer. I have recently helped serve by bringing awareness about the injustice in the Dakota Access Pipeline.

HOW HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN COMMUNITY SERVICE/SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUES WHILE IN SEMINARY?

After the Orlando night club shooting, I attended several Christian worship services to stand in solidarity and support of my LGBTQIA brothers and sisters. I have attended fundraisers for Reproductive Justice. I am thankful to have an internship that has me working with the Respite Coalition of Colorado. Recently, I attended a peaceful walking rally to protest the Dakota Access pipeline.

WHAT TYPE OF "MINISTRY" DO YOU SEE YOURSELF DOING?

Children's ministry as a part of incision in faith communities and the world. In whatever shape that may take.

WHAT TOPICS WOULD YOU BE OPEN TO SHARING ABOUT WITH GROUPS?

How to be an ally for the LGBTQIA community, working with mental health struggles, mediation as a form of conflict resolution, importance of spiritual practices.

WHAT WERE YOUR FAVORITE COURSES IN UNDERGRAD? SEMINARY?

In undergrad- I loved my youth ministry classes along with my classes that focused on proper communication methods. In seminary- I loved my class on spiritual direction. That class helped me to connect deeper with my own spirt so that I am able to help others in a way that connects them to their spirit. Also, my Mental Health First Aid praxis class. That class sparked the interest for me to go into ministry that connected with social justice as it relates to mental struggles.

WHAT'S YOUR DREAM JOB?

To be a spiritual director/ counselor for children.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU'RE NOT WORKING ON CHANGING THE WORLD?

Spend time with children. Just the natural spirit of a child helps me connect with my spirit and lightens my heart for the journey ahead. I also enjoy traveling/spending time with my fiancé, Tom. And as of recently, our new adopted dog, Bulleit (spelled like the whiskey).
